The five-day festival of Mahakaal will start from today. First of all, Diwali is celebrated in the court of Mahakaal. On October 31, there will be Fuljhadi Aarti in Bhasma Aarti.
Naidunia Representative, Ujjain. The five-day festival of lights will start from Dhan Trayodashi on Tuesday at Jyotirlinga Mahakal temple. With the wish of happiness and prosperity in the nation, Mahapuja will be done by offering a silver coin to Lord Mahakal.
Diwali will be held on 31st October and Govardhan Puja will be held on 2nd November. For the festival of lights, attractive electric lights and floral decorations will be done in the temple.
Dhantrayodashi: Silver coins will be sacrificed on Mahakal
On Dhantrayodashi, great worship of Lord Mahakal will be done by the priest committee. President Pandit Lokesh Vyas said that silver coins have been made especially for the Mahapuja. With the wish of happiness and prosperity in the country, state and city, a silver coin will be offered to God and worship will be done.
After this, coins will be offered to the king and distributed among the committee members. On this day, all the priests of the temple worship these coins at home. Let us tell you that in other temples, Annakoot starts from Kartik Shukla Pratipada, the next day of Diwali.
Diwali: Avantikanath will be the first to receive Annakoot
There is a tradition of celebrating Diwali on Roop Chaturdashi in Jyotirlinga Mahakal Temple. This time Diwali will be celebrated with Bhasma Aarti on 31st October at 4 am. Pt. Mahesh Pujari, who performed Bhasma Aarti, said, in the worldly world Lord Mahakal is considered the king of Ujjain. Therefore, whatever be the festival of Sanatan Dharma tradition, it is first celebrated in the courtyard of the king. Therefore, Diwali is celebrated in the temple on Chaturdashi instead of Amavasya. On this day, there is a tradition of applying ubtan to enhance the appearance. First of all, the king is bathed with hot water after applying saffron sandalwood paste. After this, special makeup is done by wearing new clothes and gold and silver jewellery. After this, Aarti is performed with sparklers after offering Annakoot to the Lord.
Govardhan Puja: Govardhan Puja will be held in the cowshed.
The Gaushala is run by the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee in the premises of the Vedic Research Institute located in village Chintaman. According to the tradition of the temple, Govardhan Puja will be held in the cowshed on 2 November. Govardhan and Gomata will be worshiped by the temple administrator and committee members.
