Dantewada. Dantewada Police has achieved great success in the incident of four laborers and minors from Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh being held hostage and tortured in Andhra Pradesh. The police conducted the operation within 26 hours and rescued all the workers safely. Along with this, two accused have also been arrested. The police arrested the accused from Kotapalli in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh and sent them to jail in judicial custody today.
According to the information, applicant Prema Mandvi, resident of Telam, Police Station Katekalyan, lodged a report with the police that the manager of a shrimp company located in Kurtevainu, Andhra Pradesh, called her for work on the pretext of good salary, free food and medical facilities. Prema Mandvi along with 6 other friends from his village went to work in a prawn company, where his job was to feed prawns and cut grass. When these laborers and children asked for wages, the supervisors beat them, took them hostage and forced them to work. Somehow Prema Mandvi escaped from there and informed about the incident at Katekalyan police station.
On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai, a team of Dantewada Police under the guidance of Additional Superintendents of Police Smriti Rajnala and Ramkumar Barman left for Kurtevainu, Andhra Pradesh. With the help of the local police, the police safely rescued the hostage laborers Linga Mandavi, Budhram Mandavi and the children.

The police arrested the accused L. Srinivas (42 years) and A. Suresh (21 years) was arrested and produced before the First Class Judicial Magistrate of Dantewada today. Both the accused have been sent to jail in judicial custody.
