President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated Surguja block in Purkhauti Muktangan, a glimpse of tribal culture will be seen.

Raipur. President Draupadi Murmu today inaugurated Surguja block at Purkhauti Muktangan in Nava Raipur. Surguja block, built at a cost of about Rs 5 crore, has displayed the lifestyle of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh state, especially the Surguja region, and their cultural and archaeological heritage.

On this occasion, Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Tokhan Sahu, Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Labor Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan, Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Women Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, Lok Sabha constituency Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal, MLA Khushwant Saheb and Rohit Sahu were present.

The unique culture, cultural heritage and ancient splendor of the tribes of Surguja region has been displayed in Surguja block. The habitations and lifestyle of various tribes of Surguja region have been presented in a beautiful manner, through which we can get a better understanding of the lifestyle and culture of different tribal communities in one place.

A house made of bamboo and chind leaves depicting the traditional lifestyle of Pando tribe has been displayed in Surguja block. In these houses there is a special place for worshiping the deities. Similarly, the house of the hill Korwa tribe is made of wood, in which figures of gods and goddesses are carved. This is a symbol of their religious faith. The Samat Sarna Shiva temple built in the block is a replica of the ruins of the ancient temples in Deepadih, which are of the 7th-13th century. This site holds archaeological and religious importance. Similarly, Baikunthpur Palace of Korea is an example of Indian architecture. This palace was completed in 1946, has its own historical importance, which has been built as a replica in Surguja block of Purkhauti Muktangan.

Madiya Khamba displayed in this block is used in community functions of tribals. It is a symbol of identity of Madiya tribe, it is used as a place of worship. Similarly, the remains of the ancient theater of Sitabengra cave on the hill of Ramgarh have been displayed. This is considered to be the theater of Bharat Muni. Great poet Kalidas has composed Meghdootam in the hills of Ramgarh.
