HighLights
Width of roads halved on Berasia Road. Additional forces will be deployed to deal with the jam. Complaints are being received continuously regarding traffic jam.
Navdunia Representative, Bhopal. The poor traffic system of the old city has become even worse after the installation of metro barricades. Vehicles crawl on the roads and traffic jams persist throughout the day. At the same time, if there is any VIP movement in this area, then within a few minutes the roads get jammed for up to one kilometer. To deal with these challenges of traffic chaos, the traffic police is now preparing to deploy additional forces at the intersections of old Bhopal.
The field staff has informed the higher authorities about the plight of the traffic, after which the need for additional force was felt for manual traffic management. Traffic DCP Sanjay Singh has written a letter to Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra regarding this demand.
Manual traffic management will be increased in view of the festival
In the demand letter sent to the Police Commissioner, the Traffic DCP has demanded 40 policemen to improve the traffic system. At present the traffic police has an active force of about 450 policemen, who are deployed at various intersections of the city. Since many traffic signals in the old city are out of order and vehicles are driven disregarding traffic rules, this increases the chaos even further. Keeping the festival in mind, there is a possibility of increase in traffic. In view of this, the traffic police will deploy policemen for manual traffic management from Karond intersection to bus stand and Bharat Talkies.
There are continuous complaints regarding traffic jams.
DCP, Traffic Police Sanjay Singh said that complaints are being received continuously regarding the problem of traffic jam in the old city. Ignoring the rules by drivers is the biggest reason for traffic jams. In such a situation, the need for additional policemen has been felt.
