7000 Special Trains For Diwali-Chhath Puja: Indian Railways has made special preparations for the railway passengers going to Bihar-Uttar Pradesh during Diwali and Chhath Puja. Indian Railways will run 7000 special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja this year. Due to this, railway passengers will not have to face any kind of problem. Railways has started preparations for this. This will provide convenience to two lakh extra passengers daily. This information was given by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in a press conference on Thursday (24 October).

According to railway officials, last year i.e. in 2023, 4500 special trains were run in view of the festive crowd during Diwali and Chhath Puja. Officials said that in view of the increasing number of passengers, the ministry has decided to increase the services this year.

Special trains will make so many trips
It is noteworthy that Northern Railway (NR) will run a large number of trains during this period, as a large number of passengers travel to the eastern parts of the country during Diwali and Chhath Puja. NR recently said in a statement that it will operate around 3050 trips of special trains to help people reach their destinations.

Northern Railway had announced to run 3050 trains. Recently, in view of the festival, Northern Railway itself had announced to run 3050 special trains. Northern Railway had run 1082 special trains last year.

Along with this, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has approved a big plan to increase rail connectivity for North Bihar and North-Eastern states. Under this project, Narkatiaganj, Raxaul, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur railway lines will be doubled. The total cost of this scheme will be Rs 4553 crore and it will provide more facilities to the people of Uttar Pradesh and North Bihar.

The Union Railway Minister said that the doubling of Narkatiaganj-Raxaul-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga and Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur section will strengthen the connectivity with Nepal, North-East India and border areas and will facilitate the movement of goods trains as well as passenger trains. The 57 km long new railway line Errupalem-Amaravati-Namburu will pass through Vijayawada and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh and Khammam district of Telangana. He said that these Rs 6,798 crore rail projects covering eight districts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bihar will expand the railway network by 313 km. Also, with nine new stations, about 168 villages and about 12 lakh population will benefit. Apart from this, there will be additional freight traffic of 31 MTPA (million tonnes per annum). According to Railways, the proposal for the new line will provide direct connectivity to Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.
