Seeing the seriousness of this matter, on the instructions of Collector Rahul Dev, Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel himself did the monitoring. After which, on the instructions of Collector Rahul Dev, the police arrested the accused.

Even before this, FIR action was taken against many paddy procurement employees in the paddy shortage case, but due to the three-tier contract, there was no need for arrest due to relief from the court. Although the officers of the department had caught the vehicle red-handed in the paddy procurement center itself, which was found to be a vehicle of Shree Shyam Rice Products located in Barela of the district, then the investigation of the police is going to reach the manager of this product as well, this game of theft. What is the connection between this vehicle and the manager caught on the spot? Police action is going to be intensified in this direction, because this issue remained a mystery due to the absconding of the accused, but after the arrest, the heat of investigation is now certain to reach even Shri Shyam Rice Product Management, say police officers. The accused who committed fraud in Guruwindbari paddy procurement center of Lormi development block of the district has been arrested. Accused Ramdas Banjare, while being in-charge of the paddy procurement centre, had caused financial loss of more than Rs 91 lakh 68 thousand to the government by committing fraud. Considering the seriousness of this matter, Collector Rahul Dev had given instructions to arrest the accused as soon as possible. He has said that no person will be spared who causes financial loss to the government by committing fraud. If irregularities are found in other paddy procurement centers also, strict action will be taken as per rules.

Superintendent of Police was monitoring

Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel himself was actively monitoring this case and formed a team and gave necessary directions for arrest as soon as possible. As per the instructions of Collector and SP, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Pankaj Patel and Vivek Shukla and under the leadership of SDOP Lormi Madhuri Dhirhi, raids were conducted at all possible places by the team of Lalpur police station and Cyber ​​Cell. FIR Since then the accused was continuously changing his location. During this time, information was received that the accused was hiding near Tifra in Bilaspur by changing his name and address. On information, immediately the team of Lalpur police station and cyber cell was sent to Bilaspur for arrest and the accused was arrested near Tifra under siege and presented before the court.

How was the fraud worth lakhs carried out?

Assistant Commissioner Cooperative Hitesh Shriwas said that more than 2500 quintals of paddy was dishonestly embezzled by Ramdas Banjare during the purchase of paddy in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24. Along with this, 600 bags of paddy purchased from farmers were loaded into truck number CG 12 S 2108 of Shyam Rice Products Barela for dishonest sale. For the said act, an investigation was being registered against him under sections 420, 409 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code in Lalpur Mungeli police station. During investigation, it was found that he had committed fraud in paddy worth about Rs 91 lakh 68 thousand. Accused Ramdas Banjare was absconding since the crime was registered.
