Ratan Tata: Merged into Panchatatva, cremated with full state honours…

Ratan Tata: Industrialist Ratan Tata was cremated with full state honors in Mumbai. He was merged into Panchatattva in the cremation ground located in Worli. A huge crowd of people was seen from Tata’s residence in Colaba to NCPA (National Institute of Performing Arts) and then to the cremation ground. From Union Home Minister Amit Shah to many big names from the world of politics, business, sports and entertainment came to pay his last respects. On Wednesday, at the age of 86, he breathed his last in a Mumbai hospital.

The governments of Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Gujarat have declared one day state mourning on Tata’s death. Earlier, Ratan Tata’s mortal remains were kept at the National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA) in South Mumbai for the last darshan of the public from 10.30 am to 3.55 pm, where thousands of people from different sections came to pay homage to him. Ratan Tata is given the credit for bringing the Tata Group to global fame. He died at the age of 86 at Breach Candy Hospital in the city on Wednesday night.

Ratan Tata: The last rites were performed as per Parsi tradition

A religious leader present at the crematorium said that the last rites were performed according to Parsi tradition. He told that after the last rites, rituals will be performed for three days at the late industrialist’s bungalow in Colaba, South Mumbai.
