During checking, the police team laid siege and arrested two smugglers who were smuggling ganja in XL 6 vehicle. About 2 quintals of ganja has been seized from the accused, the value of which is said to be around Rs 41 lakh. During police interrogation, the accused told that they were taking the ganja from Balangir area of Odisha towards Rajendragram in Madhya Pradesh.
Nearly 485 kg ganja seized in three cases within a month
GPM Police has seized about 485 kg of ganja in three cases within a month, whose market value is estimated to be around one crore rupees. Five four-wheelers whose market value is around Rs 60 lakh have been recovered. Apart from this, two dozen accounts have been put on hold while tracing the financial trail of the accused. Action has been taken against a total of 11 persons, including 7 from Madhya Pradesh and 4 from Chhattisgarh, in illegal drug trafficking. In all cases, action has been taken under Section 20B and 29 of the NDPS Act.
