A case of triple talaq came in Javra of Ratlam. The accused had married second time secretly from his first wife. Second wife filed a case against her husband.

A case has come to light of a young man from Javra marrying a girl from Khachraud for the second time, hiding the fact of his first marriage, and later giving triple talaq to his second wife when the truth came to light. The second wife has filed a case of triple talaq against her husband in Javra city police station. Police have registered the case and are investigating.
According to the information, complainant Shabnam Bi has lodged a report in Javra city police station that she was married according to Muslim customs on 10 August 2020 with her accused husband Mohammad Rafiq, son of Munna Khan, resident of Untkhana Jail Road, Javra. After marriage, she was living in Javra with her husband Rafiq. They have a son.
Due to a domestic dispute, she had gone to her maternal home with her son seven-eight months ago. When Javra returned from her maternal home to her in-laws’ house on June 15, 2024, she found a woman named Afreen Bi in the house.
When asked by the husband, he told that she was his first wife. She asked her husband why she did not tell this before marriage. On this the accused Rafiq said that if you want to live with her then stay, otherwise go to your mother’s house.
He divorces you and says ‘talaq…talaq’ thrice. Since then she is living in her maternal home. Shabnam lodged the report on 26 September.
According to the police, a case has been registered against the accused Mohammad Rafiq under Section 3/4 of the Muslim Marriage Act and Section 417 of the Indian Penal Code and investigation is being done.
