9 member SIT team formed to investigate Tirupati Prasad case

The controversy over mixing animal fat in the offerings of the world famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh is increasing. Now a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate this matter. A 9-member SIT team has been formed to investigate the use of adulterated ghee in Laddus and Anna Prasadam. This team will be led by Guntur Range IGP Best Tripathi.

IGP Sarvesh Tripathi will command the Special Investigation Team formed in this investigation regarding Prasad, along with this, 8 more members will be included in this team. Visakhapatnam Range Deputy Inspector General DIG Gopinath Jetty, Cuddapah Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Raju, Venkata Rao, Additional Superintendent of Police, G. Sitaram Rao, Deputy Superintendent of Police, J. Shivnarayan Swamy, T. Satyanarayan, Inspector, K. Umamaheshwar, M. Suryanarayana are included in this team.

The government order states, “During the investigation, the SIT can seek relevant information and assistance from any department of the government. All government departments will cooperate with the SIT in the discharge of its duties and will duly furnish any information or technical assistance sought. Similarly, the SIT can seek the help of any external expert by requesting the Director General of Police.”
