Naiduniya Representative, Khandwa. The recent rains have affected the production of green vegetables. Due to the reduced supply of these vegetables in the market, their prices have skyrocketed.
Green coriander used for flavouring vegetables has reached Rs 250 per kg. Capsicum has reached Rs 100 to Rs 120 per kg. Customers are shocked to hear the prices of green vegetables in the market.
Green coriander comes to the district from rural areas. Green coriander reaches the vegetable market from Bamangaon, Tigriyav, Ladanpur, Khaigaonda and Panjaria. Green coriander of farmers is being purchased here in bulk for up to Rs 200 per kg. It is being sold in the market for Rs 250 per kg.
According to vegetable vendors, the demand for green coriander is high, but the supply has reduced. The crops have been affected by the rain that happened a few days ago. The price of bottle gourd has reached 40 rupees per kg and that of bottle gourd has reached 80 to 100 rupees per kg.
Tomato again crossed 40
The price of tomatoes has once again gone up. Due to continuous holidays during festivals, the supply of tomatoes from Maharashtra has been affected and the price has gone up. A few days ago, tomatoes were being sold at 20 to 25 rupees per kg. Now it has crossed 40. Talking about onions, the price has gone up to 50 to 60 rupees per kg. This has happened due to lack of supply of the crop. Earlier, the price of onion was 30 to 40 rupees per kg.
