Naiduniya Representative, Gwalior: The power system was completely disrupted due to rain, people had to face a lot of trouble due to power outage for hours in the city. People facing the problem called the electricity officers, but their calls were not picked up. The chatbot of the electricity company was also of no use. Employees of the electricity company kept working to restore power supply. Due to this, power supply was restored in some areas, but in some areas there was no power till night.
Due to this, people had to face problems of water along with electricity. The power supply of the city started to fail since the rain started on Tuesday-Wednesday night. The power outage continued till Thursday night. In many areas of the city, there was a power outage for 12 to 24 hours. The reason was fault in 33 KVA and 11 KVA lines due to rain and breaking of wires due to falling of trees.
Most of the faults occurred in high tension lines
Due to rain, the maximum faults occurred in high tension lines in four divisions of the electricity company. Due to a tree falling on the 11 KV line near the railway station, the electricity of this area was cut for five to six hours. A tree fell on the 33 KV line in Thatipur feeder area and a fault occurred. Due to this, there was a power outage in many areas from morning to evening. Trees were also cut at 17 places, but the electricity workers could not find the fault in the feeder of LNIP. Due to this, the power supply was disrupted for more than 10 hours in the area. Apart from this, due to fault in the 33 KV line of Singhpur, Arya Nagar, Thandi Sadak of Baradari feeder area, there was a power outage in Air Force, MES, Darpan Colony feeder area. There was a power outage in many areas including Transport Nagar, Ladhedi, Suraj Nagar and other areas in Nagar Division North, Raksi area in Nagar Division South.
Broken wires and burst insulators
Due to the rain, the electricity system in the city completely failed. From wires breaking to insulators bursting, everything happened. In the main market Sarafa, power was out for more than 12 hours. In several areas, people waited for power to come back all night. Power went off at 9 am in several areas including Harikshankar Puram, Mama ka Bazaar, Shinde ki Chawni, Vinay Nagar Sector 3, as well as Naka Chandravadni, Yadav Colony, Paras Vihar of Baraghata Zone and came back at 8 pm. A tree fell on the power line in CP Colony Murar.
