In the first phase, all the efforts to prevent these diseases occurring in the district’s Barghat have not been completely successful so far, after which the malaria department is resorting to Gambusia fish to destroy the larvae of mosquitoes. This fish eats the larvae quickly.
Fish will be put here
In the first phase, fish will be released in stagnant water, ponds, lakes and wells in Barghat, Chhapara and Gopalganj areas of the district. In the first phase, 25-25 thousand Gambusia fish will be released in Barghat of the district. After this, fish will be released in other dengue-malaria affected areas of the district. The department is releasing Gambusia fish to destroy larvae in dengue malaria affected villages of the district.
This year too it will be bought for Rs 40 thousand
Department officials say that the lifespan of this fish is only about one year. Therefore, it is released at different places every year for larvae destruction. Last year, three lakh fishes were used. This year too, three lakh fishes will be released in dengue-malaria affected areas at a cost of about Rs 40 thousand.
Spray in 27 malaria affected villages
Last year, 27 malaria-affected villages were identified in the district. This year, the malaria department is spraying insecticides and fumigating these villages. This year, smoke and spraying of pesticides is also being done in villages where malaria patients are found. However, spraying of pesticides is being done only in the villages identified last year.

The malaria officer says that this is being done as per the government guidelines. Last year, malaria had spread in Pindari, Matewani, Babai, Khairghat, Ambadi of Kurai block, Chorgarathia, Oriyamal, Jheelpipariya of Gopalganj area, Agarwada, Gudma, Pandarwani, Pandrapani villages of Barghat block, Saliwada of Chhapara block, Kuhia, Ganeshganj, Khairimal, Barwani, Hargondi, Partapur, Dungaria, Khubi, Sagar and Suadongri of Dhanaura block including Bichhuamal, Donkarranji and Kanchanwada of Keolari block.
Most patients in Seoni
Dengue cases are increasing in large numbers in the district. Seoni headquarters is at the forefront in this. Out of the total 123 dengue patients found so far, 44 patients have been found in Seoni city. Due to the rains in the past few days, larvae are breeding in the water accumulated in the vacant plots of various wards of the city. The municipality is not paying attention to their destruction. Fogging machine is being used only for formality. Spraying of insecticide is also being done for the sake of name.
