Heavy rain on 21 and 22 August

Meteorological Department scientist Ajay Shukla said that a strong rain system is likely to become active from Tuesday, which may cause heavy rainfall in the entire state on August 21 and 22. The reason for this is the active cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, which is moving forward as a low pressure area.

Rain alert in the next few days

According to the Meteorological Department, so far, the state has received more than 76 percent of the rainfall of this monsoon season i.e. 28.5 inches. The monsoon trough is going straight from Bikaner and merging with this system, due to which the period of rain will return to the state again. Due to this situation, the people of the state may have to face heavy rain in the next few days.

Seoni received 316 mm more rainfall than normal

The continuous rain is ruining the crops. The district has received an average rainfall of 1049 mm from June 1 to August 19, which is about 316 mm more than normal. There is a possibility of more damage in some places in the district due to the rain.

Agricultural officials are denying the possibility of much damage to crops due to the sunshine and clear weather in some areas. Agricultural officials say that after conducting a survey of crops, it will be clear that excessive rain in the district has caused damage to maize, soybean and other crops.

On the other hand, farmers say that due to continuous rain, the growth of crops has stopped. Due to the cloudy sky and excessive rain, the roots of the maize crop are rotting and disease is spreading in it. The soybean crop has started turning yellow.
