Satya Rajput, Surajpur. On one hand, efforts are being made to improve the quality of education in the state, on the other hand, there are some people who are taking advantage of their position for their own selfish interests and doing whatever they want. This was seen when the B+ NAAC grading government college in Bishrampur of the district was closed on Monday without any written order, due to which the students had to face a lot of trouble. When the students approached the college, they had to face closed doors and many students returned disappointed for their admission, TC and other work.

Former student Avinash Prajapati, who reached the college regarding his TC, said that he found the college locked. During this time, other students also returned disappointed with him. He said that due to the closure of the college, their studies and other important work have been affected. College Principal DP Kori said that there was a possibility of the atmosphere deteriorating due to T Raja’s program, so the college was closed on the verbal order of the district administration. However, Surajpur Collector Rohit Vyas clarified that no order was issued to close the college.

A professor of the college, on the condition of anonymity, said that the principal had appointed teachers in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology in the previous session 2023-24 without departmental permission, which has adversely affected the examination results. The principal is accused of not taking other academic matters seriously except IQAC and NAAC evaluation.

Rizwan, Additional Director of the Regional Office of the Higher Education Department, also said in this matter that no order has been issued by the Higher Education Department to close the college. He assured to ask the Principal the reason for this decision on the basis of complaints. On the other hand, Commissioner Higher Education Janak Prasad Pathak, seeing the seriousness of the matter, said that he has received information through you and he will get this matter investigated.
