Fraud in Private School: Recognition up to 8th standard… but classes are being held up to 10th standard, three classes are running in the same room

72 children were found sitting in one class.

Highlights

Private schools in Pohri are operating against the rules. Classes up to 10th standard are being run with recognition of 8th standard. Teachers of government schools are operating private schools.

Naiduniya representative, Shivpuri. An example of how non-government schools are being run in violation of recognition rules in the district has come to light during the inspection of the education department officials who came into action after the instructions of the SDM in Pohri. When Pohri BEO Awadhesh Singh Tomar and his team inspected the non-government schools of Pohri in the last few days, the situation was such that classes up to tenth standard were being run in four to five rooms.

The recognition was up to the eighth standard, but children of ninth and tenth standard were also found studying there. Household items and spades and pickaxes were kept in the classrooms and bicycles in the toilets. Most of the staff was also found untrained, contrary to the recognition norms, and did not even have degrees like D.Ed or B.Ed.

The most surprising thing is that the investigation team has also come across the fact that two schools are indirectly being run by teachers posted in government schools. The team has also highlighted this fact in the report. No action has been taken at the district level so far against these schools and their operators who are being run against the rules on such a large scale.

What was the situation where

Location-Smart Kids Public School

Situation – If we look at the report obtained by Naiduniya, the headmistress Kalpana Dhakad informed that this school is recognized from LKG to 8th, whereas students of 9th and 10th were found studying on the spot. Some students were also in the uniform of the non-government Smart Kids School. Students of both the classes were found reading 10th class books. When asked, they told that they are directly prepared for 10th class.

The headmistress told the team that students of class 9th and 10th are taught by getting attached to other schools and forms are filled from other schools. BA and D.Ed were written in front of the names of five teachers in the staff register but their certificates were not found at the school. Apart from this, documents like recognition, registration etc. of the school were also not made available on the spot.

Location- Gurudev Mission School Pohri

Situation – Classes from one to eight were found to be running here. Teaching was being conducted by making more students sit in the classrooms than the permitted number. A suffocating situation was found in the rooms. Students of class 8th and 7th were being made to sit at two places in the verandah and teaching was being conducted. The teachers teaching here were also found to be untrained. Contrary to the norms, class 9th and 10th are being run. This was confirmed by the teaching teacher Rameshwar Kushwaha in his statements.

No records were made available citing the absence of the school principal. When the team gathered information, it was found that the said school is indirectly run by Rajendra Dhakad, a senior secondary teacher posted at CM Rise Pohri. The BEO has also mentioned this in his report.

Location- Lu St Public School

Situation- The school is recognized up to class 8, whereas students of class 9 and 10 were found studying in the school. All these students were found studying in the same room. Headmaster Nepal Singh Dhakad said that we teach students of class 9 and 10 as tuition. Names and signatures of ten teachers were found in the staff register, but the name of none of them was registered on the portal. Apart from this, all the teachers except Anjali Dhakad and Devkinandan Dhakad were untrained.

In line with the instructions given by SDM Sah in the review meeting, we had recently inspected many private schools, in some of which 9th and 10th class was found to be running contrary to the recognition.
