Singrauli: A 3-year-old innocent girl fell into an old closed borewell in Singrauli. The incident took place on July 29 at around 4:30 pm. Collector Chandrashekhar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Mrs. Nivedita Gupta, NCL CMD B Sainath and other officials are engaged in rescue operations. The girl is trapped in an 18-20 feet deep pit and oxygen is being supplied through pipes. Local MLA Rajendra Meshram is also present at the spot.
Borewell collapsed in the field
According to the information, Pintu Shah has a farm in Kasar village of Janpad Panchayat Chitrangi. There is an 8 to 10 year old borewell in the farm, which the farmer had already stopped using. On 25 and 26 July, due to rain, the soil caved in and a pit was formed. Soumya Shah fell into the same pit at around 4:30 pm.
Excavation done up to 15 feet
SP Nivedita Gupta said that the eight-year-old borewell was filled up. The soil had caved in due to rain, in which the girl slipped and fell. Digging is being done with a JCB. Excavation has been done up to 15 feet and some more machines have been ordered, which will speed up the rescue.
NCL CMD B Sainath, General Manager Gorbi Block B Project have reached the spot for rescue along with CISF security teams. The girl is trapped at a depth of about 18 to 20 feet, oxygen is being supplied through pipes to save her life.
