11 ministers including Champai Soren took oath in Hemant cabinet in Jharkhand

Ranchi. The Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand has expanded the cabinet after winning the trust vote in the assembly. In a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan at 4 pm, Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to 11 ministers. Champai Soren, who left the CM’s chair for Hemant Soren, has also been made a minister. He was also a part of the previous Hemant Soren cabinet. Apart from Champai Soren, the ministers who have been sworn in include Congress’s Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, Banna Gupta, Irfan Ansari, Deepika Pandey Singh, JMM’s Mithilesh Thakur, Deepak Birua, Vaidyanath Ram, Hafizul Hasan and Baby Devi and RJD’s Satyanand Bhokta.

Hemant Soren’s younger brother Basant Soren and Congress quota minister Badal Patralekh have been dropped this time. This time three new faces have been given place in the cabinet. These include Dr. Irfan Ansari and Deepika Pandey Singh from Congress quota and Vaidyanath Ram from JMM quota. Irfan Ansari has been given place in the cabinet as a minority face in place of jailed former minister Alamgir Alam, while Deepika Pandey Singh has been replaced by dropped minister Badal. Vaidyanath Ram has been given place by replacing Basant Soren (Hemant Soren’s younger brother) from JMM quota. Hemant Soren took oath as CM for the third time on July 4.

His government won the trust vote in the one-day special session of the Assembly on Monday itself. The ED arrested Hemant Soren on 31 January this year in a money laundering case related to the land scam. After this, he resigned from the post of CM. After this, Champai Soren, who was a part of his cabinet, took over the CM’s chair on 2 February. Hemant Soren came out of jail after getting bail from the High Court on 28 June and on the sixth day Champai Soren resigned from the CM post. After this, on the next day, 4 July, Hemant Soren took oath as CM.
