The country’s first hydrogen ship reached Kashi, know what is special and when will it start for tourists

Varanasi. The first hydrogen ship built in the country has reached Varanasi. It will be parked at the newly built Namo Ghat at the end of the chain of 84 ghats of Kashi and then at the first multi-model Banaras Terminal (Ramnagar) of Varanasi-Haldia Water Highway-One. There is also a plan to run it between Kashi and Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh.

The country’s first hydrogen ship reached Ramnagar Multimodal Terminal on Sunday evening. According to IWAI officials, the responsibility of operating this ship will be handed over to the Tourism Department. The Tourism Department will decide its route and fare. If everything goes well, its operation can start on Independence Day.

Capacity of 50 to 55 persons

Decoration, painting and other processes will be completed inside the two-storey hydrogen ship that has come from Kolkata. According to water transport officials, the operation of the hydrogen ship will be the responsibility of the tourism department. There are plans to operate the ship with a capacity of 50 to 55 people from Kashi to Chunar via Prayagraj.

It will run at a speed of 20 to 25 kmph

The double-decker Kata Meran tourist ship left Kolkata in the last week of June. Due to low water on the way, it faced problems in reaching Banaras, due to which the ship took more time to complete half the journey. The captain told the water transport officials that this ship can run at a speed of 20 to 25 km.
