Deputy CM Sharma reviewed the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, gave necessary instructions to the officers regarding the action plan for PM housing construction

Raipur. The new government formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai is working fast to fulfill the guarantees given to the people of the state during the assembly elections. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the work of tightening the working of all the departments has started. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma conducted a thorough review of the work of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. Deputy Chief Minister Sharma said that the work of construction of Pradhan Mantri Awas should be expedited. It should be completed within the time limit by making an action plan. He asked the officials to also prepare an action plan for the systematic development of big villages.

Instructions for organizing rural secretariat every week

Deputy CM Sharma told the officers that a rural secretariat should be organized every week to resolve the problems of the villagers. Similarly, under the PM Janman Yojana, tribal families should be benefited from all major schemes including basic facilities in tribal dominated settlements. He said that there will be no shortage of funds under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Pradhan Mantri Awas are being approved in all the Gram Panchayats. Make an action plan to complete them quickly. Principal Secretary Niharika Barik Singh, Joint Secretary Taran Prakash Sinha, Director Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin Rajat Bansal, Director Panchayat Priyanka Rishi Mahobia, Mission Director National Rural Livelihood Mission Namrata Jain, Mission Director, State Swachh Bharat Mission Sanjay Chandan Tripathi and senior officials of the department were present in the review meeting.

Deputy CM Sharma said that many eligible beneficiaries who are not able to build houses will be given support through volunteers. Officers should also ensure that there is availability of sufficient number of working mansions. Where there are no mansions, arrangements should be made for training of mansions to provide employment to local people. The list of vendors providing construction material should also be made available to the beneficiaries if required. The work of houses should start simultaneously and Griha Pravesh should also be done simultaneously.

He said that the work of all the houses approved in one lot should start simultaneously and the housewarming should also be done simultaneously. For providing banking facilities to the beneficiaries for housing construction, he said that the beneficiaries of villages which are far from the banking sector should be provided the facility to withdraw money through Bank Sakhi, CSC and the bank’s mobile banking van.

One lakh 39 thousand houses completed

Officials said that from December 1, 2023 till now, construction work of 1 lakh 39 thousand houses has been completed, work of 62 thousand 577 is going on. He said that on an average more than 23 thousand houses are being built every month. In the meeting, he told that a target of 47 thousand 90 houses has been set under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme Rural, out of which work on 33 thousand 115 houses has been started. Similarly, 689 houses have been approved under the Niyada Nelanar scheme, out of which the construction work of 384 houses has been completed. He told that 20 thousand 279 houses have been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, out of which 145 houses have been completed.

Mahtari Sadan will be built in Gram Panchayats

A well-organized Mahtari Sadan will be built for women in the gram panchayats of the state. This house will be fully equipped. Various activities of women will be organized in this house. The Deputy Chief Minister approved the drawing design of Mahtari Sadan and instructed the officials to complete it expeditiously. Mahtari Sadan will be built in about 25 hundred square feet, it will have facilities like veranda, a big hall, kitchen and storeroom toilet. Water harvesting will also be done along with tube well for water. Boundary walls will also be built in it for the safety of women. Instructions were given in the meeting to set up a rural secretariat once a week in the gram panchayat and once in 15 days at the block level to resolve the problems, complaints and cases coming in the gram panchayats. Officials were also instructed to create a portal for its monitoring.

Big villages will be developed in a planned manner. For this, villages with a population of more than 3 thousand are being selected in the first phase. For the development of the selected villages, a plan will be prepared according to the standards set by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India. He instructed the officials to restart the Hamar Chhattisgarh Yojana for the educational tour of the Panchayat representatives.

Along with planting saplings in Amrit Sarovars as per the convenience of the village, making Pachari and constructing toilets, instructions were also given to make a strategy for creating man days under MNREGA. In the meeting, the works like training of BC Sakhis, Lakhpati Didi, Lakhpati Didi working in the state under Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission, loan at minimum rate to women of self-help groups etc. were reviewed.
