Problem: Waste disposal center worth crores is throwing up dust, people are throwing garbage on rivers, drains and roadsides.

Kushinagar. Garbage is being thrown into rivers, drains, roads and ravines at various places in Kushinagar Municipality. A scheme for door to door garbage collection is being run in the city by Municipal Council Kushinagar. In which big dustbins have been placed everywhere to throw garbage. So that the people of the city can put their household garbage in this dustbin and the urban area can be made clean, yet people are throwing garbage here and there.

At the same time, crores of rupees are being spent on garbage disposal from door to door vehicles. Despite this, municipal sanitation workers are dumping garbage and filth into the life-giving Bari river adjacent to the city. Due to which this river seems to be losing its existence. At many places, heaps of garbage can also be seen along the main roads. It is being set up by the municipality and to dispose of this garbage heap, it is set on fire by the workers. While this is causing harm to the environment, the rivers and pits are also getting filled with dirt. They are openly flouting the rules by throwing garbage like this in various wards of the city. Despite this, Kushinagar Municipality does not seem to be serious about this problem.

At the same time, the condition of all the wards of the Municipal Council is also bad. There are heaps of garbage everywhere. At many places, garbage is being burnt and disposed of in rivers, pits and drains. The piles of garbage in the Bari river and on the roadside are not only spreading pollution but are also flouting the rules of the National Green Tribunal. Citizens of the municipality say that garbage is spread in the open at many places in the city. Bari river has been filled with garbage. According to people, the municipality and administration should take concrete steps for this, so that no one spreads filth and the rivers can be saved from getting polluted. When the Executive Officer of Kushinagar Municipality was asked in this regard, it refused to say anything citing the implementation of the code of conduct.
