Actually, PM Modi today inaugurated the Sela Tunnel built at an altitude of 13 thousand feet in Baisakhi of Kameng district of the state. The length of this tunnel along the China border is 1.5 kilometers. It is being told that this is the longest double lane tunnel in the world. This tunnel has been constructed at a cost of Rs 825 crore.
Apart from the common people, the army will also benefit from the construction of this tunnel. The tunnel will provide all-weather road connectivity to Tawang located on the China border. During rains and snowfall, this area remained cut off from the rest of the country for months. Being close to LAC, this tunnel will make the movement of the army even better in bad weather.
