Britain’s Prince Andrew, the more youthful son of Queen Elizabeth II, has returned all of his army titles and royal patronages to the monarch, Buckingham Palace mentioned on Thursday.
The 61-year-old Duke of York, the more youthful brother of Prince Charles, is going through a civil intercourse case trial in the United States over allegations of sexual attack.
He’s being sued via Virginia Giuffre, who alleges that she used to be trafficked via the past due disgraced American financier Jeffrey Epstein to have intercourse with Prince Andrew when she used to be 17 allegations the royal has persistently denied.
“With the Queen’s approval and settlement, the Duke of York’s army affiliations and royal patronages were returned to the Queen,” the palace observation learn.
“The Duke of York will proceed to not adopt any public tasks and is protecting this situation as a personal citizen,” it mentioned.
“His Royal Highness” has been dropped from his name and all of Prince Andrew’s roles will probably be redistributed to different contributors of the royal circle of relatives and may not be returned to him, a royal supply used to be quoted via the BBC as announcing.
