Area Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Wednesday refused to rebuke newly elected Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) after it emerged the latter had fabricated more than one information about his background to win election, and is now the topic of an investigation into his marketing campaign contributions.
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell defined why.
It’s so simple as McCarthy desperately desiring Santos’ vote to move expenses at the Area flooring, stated O’Donnell.
Now not that any of the “reckless regulation” handed via the GOP’s razor-thin majority will in truth finally end up as legislation, the “Remaining Phrase” host famous.
McCarthy, in swerving a condemnation of Santos, stated “the citizens made the verdict and (Santos) has a proper to serve.”
“If there’s something that rises to the instance that he did one thing fallacious, then we’ll care for that at the moment,” the speaker added.
McCarthy is now a “circus grasp” of Area Republicans who’ve “no passion” or capability to control, stated O’Donnell.
The “GOP is now the Santos celebration,” he added of the first-term congressman, who previous Wednesday confronted calls to renounce from state and native GOP leaders.
