The groom had arrived with a wedding procession with great hopes to take the bride, but instead of welcoming the wedding party, the bride’s family thrashed the procession and sent it back. The two daughters of Chhotelal Chaudhary of Atariya village of Amalai police station area of the district were to get married together. The elder daughter’s wedding procession came from Khongapani Jhiriyatola of Chhattisgarh and the younger daughter’s wedding procession came from Samda Tola of Pakaria in Shahdol district. Rajbhan’s wedding procession had arrived earlier for Chhotelal’s younger daughter’s wedding. The wedding procession was about to start when the elder daughter’s wedding procession also arrived at the same time, then the people of the younger daughter’s wedding party stopped playing the DJ. Meanwhile, the people of the girl’s side came and started insisting on playing the DJ.

When the baraatis refused to play the DJ, the people from the bride’s side started chasing the baraatis and hitting them with sticks and stones. Rakesh Chaudhary was seriously injured in the fight and has been admitted to the medical hospital for treatment. Apart from him, many baraatis including Ajay, Betu, Kamlesh, Vijay, Lala have been injured. After the fight, all the baraatis were sent back and only the groom was taken to their home. Amalai police have registered a case against both the parties.
