‘Tweet apology or cross to prison’: International journo says she was once threatened via Taliban

Australian journo Lynne O’Donnell, who posted an apology for reporting on pressured marriages in Afghanistan, stated she was once pressured to apologise via the Taliban.

International journalist Lynne O’Donnell stated the Taliban in Afghanistan requested her to tweet an apology or cross to prison for articles on pressured marriages via Taliban commanders.

Taking to Twitter, the Australian journalist stated, “Tweet an apology or cross to prison, stated Taliban intelligence. No matter it takes: They dictated. I tweeted. They didn’t love it. Deleted, edited, re-tweeted.”

O’Donnell added that the Taliban made a video of her announcing she wasn’t coerced to delete her tweet. Made video of me announcing I wasn’t coerced. Re-did that too, she stated.

Lynne O’Donnell has written broadly concerning the Taliban commanders who forcefully marry teenage women and use them as intercourse slaves.

“This was once a premeditated strive at persona assassination and an affront to Afghan tradition. Those tales had been written with none forged evidence or foundation, and with none effort to ensure circumstances via on-site investigation or face-to-face conferences with alleged sufferers,” she had stated whilst apologising for the object she wrote.

Now, she has claimed that she was once pressured to pen an apology on Twitter and was once threatened via Taliban officers.

In some of the articles in International Coverage, O’Donnel had written that after the Taliban took over the reins of Afghanistan, they demanded the names and ages of women and girls they stated could be rounded up and married off to younger combatants.
