KOLKATA: Veteran TMC MP Saugata Roy on Friday stated that he and different parliamentarians of his birthday celebration have won a letter from the Bengal BJP management, searching for their beef up for NDA presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu.
Roy, in the similar breath, additionally stated that lawmakers of his birthday celebration would vote for joint non-BJP candidate Yashwant Sinha.
Murmu, who were traveling states for electioneering, is scheduled to talk over with Kolkata to fulfill BJP MPs and MLAs from West Bengal.
“We’ve won a letter signed by means of BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar and Chief of the opposition in West Bengal meeting Suvendu Adhikari, urging us (TMC MPs) to beef up NDA nominee Droupadi Murmu for presidential polls. They’ve claimed that Murmu’s victory is bound, and all of us will have to vote for her to enhance democratic and constitutional norms,” Roy stated.
The veteran TMC MP, then again, dominated out any chance of backing Murmu.
“Why will have to we beef up the NDA candidate when the opposition events in combination have fielded Yashwant Sinha? We will be able to vote for Sinha,” he stated.
Final month, Majumdar and Adhikari had written to Leader Minister Mamata Banerjee, urging her to beef up Murmu within the July 18 presidential ballot.
The Bengal BJP had in June introduced that it could write to the entire TMC MPs and MLAs, searching for their beef up for the NDA nominee.
Final week, Banerjee had stated that Murmu, a tribal BJP chief from Odisha, may have been a consensus candidate had the saffron birthday celebration mentioned with the opposition events prior to fielding her.
